Prof Wesam Ismail

Prof Wesam Ismail is a prominent renal pathologist, currently serving as the Chair of the ISN (International Society of Nephrology) Renal Pathology Committee. She holds the position of Assistant Professor of Pathology at Beni-Suef University in Egypt, where she also heads the Pathology Department. Prof. Ismail is highly involved in renal pathology education and research, particularly in glomerular diseases and nephropathology. She is also the director of Pathlab, a private renal pathology service based in Cairo.

Her work focuses on improving diagnostic practices and understanding kidney diseases, such as glomerulonephritis, through innovative approaches, including genetic testing and the application of mass spectrometry in renal pathology. Prof. Ismail is an active participant in international conferences and workshops, contributing to the global discourse on nephrology and pathology
